1. What is Split2Parts and what does it do?
Split2Parts is an online tool that generates production information for structural assemblies — for example, welded sheet metal structures like vessel hulls. It processes both flat and bent plate parts, automatically creating plate part contours with marking lines that show intersections with other parts. This helps speed up preparation for manufacturing and ensures accuracy in marking and cutting.
2. How do I start working with Split2Parts?
- Log in to your account.
- Upload your 3D model of the assembly.
- Change default part parameters (optionally) — you can edit the part name, select material, define marking side and mould side, or exclude a part from processing if needed.
- Choose up to 30 parts for processing (in the Alfa version).
- Start generation and receive your production-ready information.
3. What are the limitations of the Alfa version?
- Only plate parts without machining can be processed (no chamfers, non-through holes, or similar features).
- You can process up to 30 parts per session.
4. Which formats of input models are supported?
For now, only .step/.stp and .3dm (of version 7) are supported.
5. Do I need to install anything?
No. Split2Parts works online — simply log in via your browser, upload your model, and start working.
